I can’t believe how time flies. It has been seven years since we began our Classical Conversations journey, and I still remember my (then) little one roaming around our home and belting out the CC Cycle 3 Week 6 history song about Davy Crockett! That song has always been a HUGE favorite in our household, ha! I’m not sure why…maybe it’s my DEEP Texan roots, but I, too, have an affinity towards Davy Crockett! (Maybe out of gratitude for his help at the Alamo?😭) So in honor of this pioneer, statesman, and Alamo fighter, I have a Davy Crockett coloring page for you today!
Let’s dive headfirst into the life of this true American hero. Get ready to explore the incredible feats of this legendary figure, from his days as an outdoorsman to his time in Congress and his heroic stand at the Alamo!

Color the “King of the Wild Frontier!”
Davy Crockett was a man of the wild, born and raised in the untamed wilderness of Tennessee. His love for the outdoors was so deep-seated that it was practically a part of his DNA. With his trusty rifle in hand, he roamed the rugged terrain, honing his skills as a hunter and tracker. But it was his larger-than-life tales of hunting bears that earned him the nickname “King of the Wild Frontier.” Through Crockett’s adventures, our children can learn about the importance of self-reliance, resilience, and appreciating the beauty of nature.

* I know that I seem fixated on using good printer paper, but as one who has been making and using printables for YEARS, this 32 lb paper elevates the experience soooo much!!
Davy Crockett Goes to Washington
Crockett’s indomitable spirit led him from the wilderness to the hallowed halls of Congress. As a congressman, he fearlessly fought for the rights of the common man, championing the principles of freedom and equality. His folksy charm and unwavering dedication won the hearts of many, making him a beloved figure in American politics. By exploring Crockett’s political career, we can teach our children about the democratic process, the power of perseverance, and the significance of standing up for what is right.

Remember the Alamo!
The climax of Davy Crockett’s life came during the Battle of the Alamo. In 1836, a small group of Texan (and honorary Texan) defenders, including Crockett, bravely held their ground against a much larger Mexican force.
Their unwavering determination and sacrifice became a symbol of heroism that continues to inspire generations. By recounting the story of the Alamo, we can impart valuable lessons on bravery, loyalty, and the cost of freedom!
